Northwest Security, Inc. began in 1990 when Daniel L. Kirby purchased Northwest Corporate Protection based in Wheaton, Illinois. Mr. Kirby soon changed the name to Northwest Security, Inc. and operated from his Wheaton headquarters until 2001.

In 2001, Jeffrey H. James joined Northwest Security, Inc. as Senior Vice President. At that time, Mr. James owned Five Star Detective Agency, Inc. and together they were able to provide both Security & Investigative services to their clients. In 2002, the two men jointly created Northwest Metro Security, Inc., thereby, in conjunction with the existing companies, fulfilling the concept of complete security and protective services now known as K A R D Protection Group, Inc.

Today, K A R D Protection Group, Inc. provides both armed and un-armed security officers as well as a full range of investigative services to their clients.

CHS Level V (CHS-V) is the premier level of certification in Homeland Security. It is restricted to those who have already been certified at CHS Level IV and who have successfully completed an in-depth review course and exam on CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and High-Yield Explosives) Preparedness taught by prominent CHS-approved instructors.
